admin Servant Leader, Stories of Hope

Samkelo Hlophe, started to attend Seed of Hope’s primary school program, almost from the day the centre first opened- when he was just 10 years old. Over the years, as the organisation grew and developed, Samkelo did as well. When we started our high school program, he was there, and then when we started our leadership development program for Grade 10-11’s, he was there too.

Samkelo, grew up with us and developed into a young leader of great character and stature both within our programs and the community itself. In 2013, his Grade 12 year, Samkelo and some of his friends from our leadership development program started their own initiative, with the intention of developing leaders amongst the youth who are willing to act, and be a part of transforming the community.

In 2016, after working in the corporate world for two years, Samkelo joined our team as a Simunye program facilitator for two years to develop a variety of more skills and exposure, as well as to give back. He has a real heart and passion for seeing the youth of this community developed. In 2017, he started his own soccer clinic on Saturday’s for the youth and has continued to service he young people through the youth groups of his church.

At the end of 2017, Samkelo left Seed of Hope to continue his growth and development back in the corporate sphere, while planning to start his own business initiative in the local community.
