Lungelo Khomo, one of the early graduates of the leadership program, who first came across Seed of Hope when he was 17 and had completed school in 2012. Opportunities were scarce and he found himself unemployed and unsure of where to turn next. Lungelo joined a group with ten other young men, who were guided by our high school program facilitators. He learned many key life skills that would help his with his future, but still the cost of continuing education was extremely high, especially without financial support. Lungelo was not sure what to do- but with the assistance of an SOH mentor, he pursued opportunities in the working world.
He did not give up and kept applying and with the help of his mentor, he was able to secure a job at a local hardware store. Lungelo has continued to work there for the last 5 years, and in 2014 started community leadership initiative for youth with some of his friends from the high school program. This initiative encouraged and strengthened the youth of Bhekulwandle.
Lungelo will never forget the support that he received from the Seed of Hope, and salutes the organisation every time he passes by. This is where feels that everything started for him.
