admin Employment Stories, Stories of Hope

Siyabonga is an innovative young man who had been battling to find employment for a while and has decided to start his own business that providing cleaning services for corporates, churches and families both within and outside the local community.

He has never run a business before and was not sure exactly how to, but his idea was great! After a few months of trialing this initiative he heard about SOH’s Khulanathi process and our new Entrepreneurial Business Training (EBT). He believed that this was what he needed to help him grow in his capacity to plan and manage his business and for it to become a success.

In February, 2018 he started the training and says he learnt so much about his personal value, his vision and goal for his future and how to be a good employer through the employment preparation course.

Siyabonga has also started our first EBT course and is excited to see how his business will grow as a result. Through Siyabonga’s business he employs the youth of Bhekulwandle to try and alleviate the unemployment rate.

Through our EBT course, Siyabonga is currently in the process of registering his business officially which will enable him to qualify for government enterprise development funding and increase his credibility as a local business, which should grow his profile among local corporates. Siyabonga continues to receive support and mentorship from our facilitators as he pursues his dream of running a successful business.
