Social Services

Food Relief
The innocent victims of crisis are often children and the elderly. They are the face of the Aids pandemic, and the loss of income-earning family members makes them extremely vulnerable. Seed of Hope staff and volunteers source, receive, catalogue and distribute donated foodstuffs to families in critical need. We then work with recipients on a long-term plan to develop food self-reliance through gardening, accessing government grants for orphans, or training in income-generating skills.
Clothing Support
Donations of good quality clothing and household goods are received and distributed to members of the community through the Social Services office. Members of the HIV Support Group, volunteers at the Centre, and parents of children in our Simunye and After School programs all benefit from these donations.
Referral to Local Agencies

Our Social Services 0ffice acts as a connection point in the community where people can find out what agencies exist and what resources and services are available to them. We link people with various agencies that assist in supporting the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of the community.
Future Goals- Social Worker on Staff
Navigating the bureaucracy of government identity documents, orphan support grants and old-age pensions requires specialized knowledge. Our goal of hiring a Social Worker would allow orphans, people with disabilities and pensioners to gain a stable source of financial assistance. It would also assist patients in our health programs to apply for government ID documents, which are needed for public health care and other services.
