Exciting changes to our Centre in Bhekulwandle are making ministry more efficient and putting smiles on the faces of the staff!
This month, renovations converted one of the largest rooms in our facility into a health services room which includes a private office for HIV counselling and testing.
“This project was accomplished through the generous funding of a volunteer team from Centre Street Church in Calgary, Canada. During their stay, the team of health professionals assisted with a community-wide weekend medical clinic.
Over 440 local residents took the opportunity to receive health screening, optional HIV testing and free prescription medications. Each client also met with a volunteer who offered them spiritual counselling and prayer.
It was an eye-opening experience for many visiting team members to witness the challenges faced by both patients and local medical staff. The need for ongoing, quality health care is so great.
Now, through a much larger health services room, adults who need an HIV test and children in our HIV support group will receive better service with greater privacy.
